Does it really matter what board you're on when you go out to get some of mother nature's free energy? Waves are free. Well, unless you have to pay to get on a beach. But for 99% of the world's coast line, you are free to jump in the water and enjoy the world's raw energy of waves.
I've been very fortunate to have had a chance to see the world on a bodyboard. I am grateful and I will always bodyboard. And I will always surf, SUP, longboard, bodysurf and buttski for that matter. It doesn't matter. Just as long as I get to ride waves. It's too bad that it's in our human nature that we have the need to choose between the way we ride the wave then turn around and say it's better than all other forms. I scratch my head and wonder why are these people are worried about what other people are riding. Shouldn't it just be about respect and the understanding of wave riding etiquette? Yes, it should.
Yes... be a longboarder, be a surfer, be a bodyboarder, be an SUP rider, be a bodysurfer. Just make sure you remember how it felt riding that first wave or that recent super fun session. As cliche as it is... remember your roots.
Look, all I'm saying is doesn't matter what your riding just as long as your having fun. Easy.
